Once again we come to the end of another year and where does the time go. All in all, it has been a good year and for me, it is ending on a better note than when it started.
For those of you who know my husband, Tom Turner, I want to let you know that he is continuing to improve on a daily basis. He is now able to get himself up to the side of the bed and lay himself down again. It is painfully slow and certainly looks funny; however, each time he does it, he gets better. Having a stroke and re-learning basic movements takes a lot of repetition much like a baby. Get up, fall down, laugh, and start again. I am so grateful that Tom has a good sense of humor about his condition. He still amazes me as he is doing a lot of what the doctors say he can’t do. I contribute all of his healing to the healing power of Jesus Christ. Without Jesus, Tom would not be making the progress he is making.

I want all of you to know how much I appreciate your prayers and good thoughts. Just know that they are working.

We are truly blessed to live in the United States of America. During the upcoming Christmas holiday, please take a moment to reflect on your life and the many blessings you have. Enjoy your families, take some time to rest, and get to know your neighbors – you’ll be glad you did.

I am looking forward to a fantastic new year. As we help others to be successful, we, in turn, will be successful.

I want to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and may the Peace of the Lord be with you, now and always.

Greetings from Tom and Patty! Tom has been making great progress since his last update. He is talking very well now and he has such a good sense of humor in spite of his challenges. Tom has limited sight; however, just 3 days ago, he can now see figures about 12 feet away. He has a blind friend who works as a dispatcher with Yellow Cab. When Jimmy Lopez was applying for his job with Yellow Cab, David Buckner, Jimmy, and Tom were joking about Jimmy driving a cab. They invisioned Jimmy driving down the street with feelers on the cab. Jimmy would bounce from one curb to the next just noticing the feelers. Everyone on the street was warned that Jimmy was coming so get out of the way. The three of them were totally in stitches until they had tears running from their eyes. To this day, all three of them still get tickled over Jimmy driving for Yellow Cab. When Tom and I were talking about his limited vision, he carefully thought about the predicament. Then he said "Well, I can just go get a job with Jimmy at Yellow Cab." Tom's physical progress is very slow, some due to the stroke, some due to his age; however, we are still believing that he is a seeing, walking, talking, swallowing miracle in Jesus' name to declare the glory of God. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for Tom. We know that all of those prayers will not go unanswered. Thank you also for asking about Tom when I talk to you. You all are the greatest and we wish you blessings from the Lord. Have a great life, thank the Lord for giving you good health, and do the things necessary to keep your good health. We love you~~~~Tom and Patty Turner 720-394-7223 pattyturner47@msn.com

We hope that you have a glorious Easter Day.

Tom is making progress each day, and it is a good thing that he is a determined person.

Be blessed this Easter season and enjoy spring!

Hi, All~

Tom is definitely a seeing, walking, talking miracle in Jesus’ name in progress.

Mechanically: His left toes, foot, and leg have regained their mobility, we are working on strength now. His left hand is just beginning to show signs of movement. He has a brace to make his arm extend rather than contract. If his fingers, hand and arm heal like his leg, we should see movement in the next week or two.

Last Thursday, Tom spoke to me. He said, “I need you.” I replied, “I need you too, honey.” He then said, “I need you (long pause) to take me home.” I think he really wanted to go home - too bad for me. Just kidding!!! He has been talking ever since. The trac tube was taken out yesterday (Tuesday) so his volume should increase. Tom’s enunciation should improve with time.

Tom’s eyesight is also on the mend. We know he is improving; we just aren’t sure what he is seeing. He did tell Mike the other day that he had a cap on his head.

There is always something new with Tom every day. I look forward to seeing what is new today!!!

Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers. They are working!!

God always answers prayers – they just sometimes don’t look the way we think they should look.

Hi, All~ This week has been exciting with Tom's progress. Thursday, the rehab doctor started Tom on Ridlin. This is used for the type of injury Tom has as it stimulates the area of the brain that was damaged. After one dose, Tom was able to sit balanced on his air bed with the physical therapist bouncing the bed. Huge improvement~~~ Also, he was able to move his right arm on command, open his fist (not on command) and cover his knee. This was also done during the bouncing session. Everything seems so easy to us, when in fact, it takes an extreme amount of energy for Tom as not only is his physical body working, but so is his brain. Now for the best part ~ boy, I sure didn't think I would ever say this about Tom!!! That same day, Tom was asleep after his therapy and I heard a noise I didn't recognize.I leaned down to his chest thinking maybe he needed to cough. Boy was I surprised when I realized that the noise I was hearing was SNORING!!!! Oh, my gosh. This means that air was going through his vocal cords, his mouth was closed, and the air was making it's way out his nose. Wow - I never thought I would be happy to hear him snore; however, I am ecstatic~~~ Tom has been exercising ever since his first dose of Ridlin - even working on his stomach muscles so he can sit up by himself - soooon. One wonders sometimes why it took the docs. so long to give this med., but maybe God's timing is best~~~he knows when we are ready for the next step. I thank God that Tom is a seeing, walking, talking miracle in Jesus' name. Have a blessed day~~~ Patty Turner pattyturner47@msn.com

This injury just takes time to heal. You know what? Tom is like his favorite reptile - the turtle. The turtle takes time to look around before he starts out on his journey; he takes a risk by just sticking his neck out, but then he slowly starts forward. He used to be the "energizer bunny" and now he is Tommy the turtle. The good news? He is making progress. One of these days he will be back "running the race" and he will beat out that bunny~~~~

Blessings to all~~Patty
P.S. I know he misses all of you because I asked him and he shook his head yes. Everyone is in his prayers.
